Drupal is an open source content management platform. Drupal is a free software package that allows an individual or a community of users to easily publish, manage and organize a wide variety of content on a website. Administrator panel provides the platform to manage, organize, creating or selecting module in website.

There are lots of component which is widely used to affect the Drupal web site such as Dashboard, Content, Structure, Appearance, People, Modules, Configuration, Reports and Help. Let’s take a brief idea about these components.

To open the Drupal Administrator Panel you’ve to login in drupal website with Admin username and password.

Here, enter your admin username and password and simply click on button ‘Log in’.

Dashboard:

It provides a sort of control panel for users with administrative rights. It can be used to store commonly used links, article, basic page, comment or to add block content to the 'dashboard' region.  With the help of Dashboard you could add content with link path and view recent comment in web site.

When you will click on this link then following window will be appearing, where you could see available web site content as well as you’ll authorize to create new one.

Content:

This section allows user to add new content in your website such as Articles, basic page etc. In this section you will also perform filtration of content on the basis of status and type as well as you could update the existence information.

Structure:

This section plays an important role in building of drupal website.  ‘Structure’ menu or option defined the whole structure of website that means look and feel of website.  It is having following component which is necessary to build a website.

To open the ‘Structure’ option in admin panel, first of all login in Drupal Administrator Admin Panel and go to option ‘Structure’.

1.       Blocks: It configures what block content appears in your site’s sidebar and other region.

2.       Contact form: It creates a system contact form set up categories for the form to use.

3.       Content Types: It manages the content types, including default status, front page promotion, comment, setting etc.

4.       Menus: It provides the functionality to add new menus to your site, edit existing menus and rename and recognize menu links.

5.       Taxonomy: It manages tagging, categorization and classification of your content.

Appearance:

Appearance is way through which you can set and configure the default theme for your website. There is also an alternate option too to change the look and feel of your website; is theme option. You can make custom theme and applying it in website.

To open the Appearance option in drupal website, first of all login in Drupal Administrator Panel and go to option ‘Appearance’.

People:

This page allows creating new user in website.  That is this web page allows administrator to register new users. There are some required fields which must be filled by the administrator or naïve user.  To open the ‘People’ option in drupal website, first of all login in Drupal Administrator Panel and go to option ‘People’.

Here you can add new user by clicking on links ‘Add User’ as well as you’ve search functionality, update functionality, edit functionality etc to manage user information.

Modules:

Module is a way through which we can extend the functionality of Drupal content management system. That is, extend and customize Drupal functionality with contributed modules. To open the module option in drupal website, first of all login in Drupal Administrator Panel and go to Modules option.

Generally module has three types Core, Contributed and Custom. Let’s take a look on these components.

1.       Core: It is a module that ship with Drupal and are approved by core developers and community.

2.       Contributed: It is a module that written by the Drupal community and shared under the same GNU public license as drupal.

3.       Custom: It is module that written or created by the developer of website.

Configuration:

This page allows user to reset the default setting of Drupal website such as Account settings, System Settings, Content Settings, User Interface, Media, Development, Search and MetaData, WebServices  and Regional & language etc.  

To open the configuration option in Drupal first of all login in Drupal Administrator Panel and go to option ‘Configuration’.

Report:

This page enables the functionality to get the reports of website such as site operations & detected problem, available updates, recent log message, field list, top access denied errors, top page not found errors and top search phrases etc..
