Most of the time is spent on mobile devices and other internet connected devices. There are lots of personal information on these devices, including writing jobs such as business paper writers or thesis writers, but is there a way of keeping all this information safe.
5 tips on how to keep your information safe
1. Use passcodes
This draws mixed reactions depending on the scenarios involved. If you accidentally forget your phone at the coffee shop or in a taxi, would anyone be able to access the information and locate you? This is one scenario, but imagine if someone finds your phone and they can access your emails, social media accounts, and even bank accounts what harm they would cause you. It is unavoidable to have personal information in your devices but use a passcode to protect your information.
2. Securing your personal information online
You need to create unique and strong passwords for online accounts. Be creative with your passwords so that they are not easily hacked. Your browser should be secured with encryption software that scrambles information. This means that any information sent online is scrambled. Beware of what you post on your social media accounts, avoid revealing too much about yourself because most online criminals can link information and have all the information they need to access your personal information including your location. If possible never ever send personal information over the mail or messages. Avoid clicking on links sent to your inbox and you do not understand. Counter check the emails sent with the companies or people who sent them. When you are disposing of your devices you need to delete all personal information stored. Use a program that has the capability to overwrite the entire stored information.
3. Secure your personal information offline
Secure your documents and records at work and at home. Keep your documents locked in every time and limit the documents you carry around. Make copies of cards you need and carry credit cards or debit cards you will be using and your identification. Never leave your personal items such as your purse or phone unattended. Shred document with information including receipts, filled forms, prescriptions and all documents that are no longer needed.
4. Beware of your internet connections
You need to be sure of the Wi-Fi network you will be using. Free public Wi-Fi is convenient, but it does not offer security. Most criminals will eavesdrop on online activities being carried out on the network. Use secure networks, if you are logged on to networks used by more than one person avoid online transactions if you must use them use virtual private networks which encrypt activities carried out online.
5. Close online accounts you don’t  use anymore
Online accounts that you have used for bank statements and other important transactions need to be closed if they are no longer in use. Imagine the information you have tied to the account getting into the wrong hands. It is time to close all accounts that are not in use.
Keeping personal information private isn’t easy, but I need to protect my paper done just in case it lands in the wrong hands. Even your private life should not be shared with everybody, keep secrets not everybody should know what you are doing. Don’t give classmates or friends a reason to start investigating you.
